Sam Bracken currently serves as the Global Director of Product Management and Marketing for FranklinCovey, the world’s leading training and leadership organization with services in more than 145 countries. In addition to his role at FranklinCovey, he regularly speaks to executives, leaders and teams in a wide range of organizations on every continent about excellence, change, time management, execution and leadership.Before joining FranklinCovey as a senior consultant in 2004, 18 years of Sam’s career was spent in sales and marketing in the carpet industry where he became a top salesperson before eventually being promoted to regional sales manager, then national sales director and finally vice president of marketing for Mohawk Industries, Inc., a Fortune 200 firm and the world’s largest flooring manufacturer. |
In the latter position, Sam handled all aspects of brand architecture for six commercial brands with an advertising and sample budget of $20 million. He was known for industry innovation in direct and cause marketing.
In 1993 Sam earned an MBA with an emphasis in strategic marketing from the Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, a Top 10 MBA school. He graduated Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial Management, with honors, after making the Dean’s list for 10 quarters and being one of a handful of students inducted into the ANAK Senior Society, the highest honor a graduating Tech student can receive. A member of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society and Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Sam played football on a full-ride scholarship for Georgia Tech, where his last two years he was on the Academic All ACC Team and on the ACC Honor Roll.
Sam is working on his first book entitled My Orange Duffel Bag: A Journey to Radical Change. Whether he is doing business consulting or speaking in a motivational setting, he has one goal: to motivate people to use their power of choice to improve their lives or organizations. His strength is in presenting powerful, engaging messages that move participants to positive action.
